however I cant find a way to make Win+Shift-S call ShareX. I need to install a 3rd party app to do this, something like ShareX. The fact that it doesnt save a snapshot automatically and that there is no way to configure this basic behaviour means the app is completely useless. I've already seen some suggestions for 3rd party apps but I would prefer not to have to go that route. However, I specifically need to be able to change the setting for the active window style of screenshot. The app at one point had an issue where captured images were blurry, so there is definitely more work and testing to be done on the road ahead. Snip and Sketch / Snipping Tool is fundamentally broken. Like winkey + shift + s for an area drag type screenshot. Anyway, you can expect for Microsoft to continue testing the new Snip and Sketch app with Windows Insiders for the foreseeable future before eventually rolling it out to all Windows 10 users. This same feature was already present in the old screen snipping tool, so it makes sense now to see it ported over to the new app. Pressing PrtScr or Print Screen button after enabling the Print Screen shortcut from Settings > Ease of Access/Accessibility > Keyboard. Once you take screenshot, Windows 10 will open Snip & Sketch app to edit and save the screenshot. Using the Run command explorer ms-screenclip: Clicking the Notification icon and selecting Screen snip or Expand > Screen Snip. The screen will dim and you can take screenshot using the toolbar shown at the top of the screen. Check it out in action: But you may want more. If that’s all you need, you can take it from there. This release also delivers new methods of capturing the screen, including taking instantaneous snips from the “New” menu, and delayed snips of up 3-10 seconds. Just press Win+Shift+S keys together on your keyboard and Windows 10 will launch Screen Snip tool. To quickly snip and share a screenshot, press the Windows key + Shift + S to bring up a snipping toolbar use it to snip a rectangle, something a bit more freeform, or full screen and it will go straight to your clipboard. The name change is currently being tested with Skip Ahead Insiders and comes in version 10.1807.2286.0 of the application. Well, a few months later, Microsoft has re-named the Screen Sketch app to Snip and Sketch, also adding new features in the progress ( via Neowin.) With its many new features in tow, it was even foreseen as a consolidation to the snipping tool. Way back in June, Microsoft introduced Screen Sketch, a new Windows 10 screen capture experience for Windows Insiders.
